What is thomas 2.0?

thomas 2.0 is the personal and professional website of Thomas MacEntee. Think of it as the "portal to Thomas" - a way of tapping into over 20 years legal information technology experience, over 15 years of genealogy and family history experience and over 40 years of, well, just Thomas.

Update:

March 3, 2009:

Thomas is available for freelance work! I've been writing more and more including press releases, guest blog posts, articles, etc. Also keep me in mind for genealogy research, virtual assitance (I have mad skillz when it comes to Microsoft Office), and more. If you don't see it here - just ask!

- I've decided to pursue my passion - genealogy - more as a profession. I will be working some forms of certification and anticipate making the conference and lecturing circuit during the last half of 2009.

- Recently I was named the National Genealogy and Technology Examiner over at Examiner.com where I write a regular column focused on new technologies and how genealogists and family historians can leverage them to find their roots. Article subjects include Google, Twitter, search engines, blogging, social media, and more.

- More along the writing front: I now have a regular column at Digital Genealogist magazine!

- While business has been spotty with my new venture called BigLaw 2.0 Inc. I am still committed to help global law firms re-examine their current business model and assist them with their social media marketing needs (blogging, Twitter, etc.).

- My new website Geneabloggers has seen explosive growth and now lists almost 350 genealogy and family history-related blogs.

- Finally, I am still committed as ever to assisting my former co-workers at Heller Ehrman, which filed for bankruptcy on December 28, 2008. We are proceeding with a class action lawsuit which will be a long but ultimately rewarding process. Check out the blog Heller Highwater which I author for more information and track how the over 1100 employees of Heller left stranded without being paid accrued vacation, WARN Act monies and more are going to fight and win back the hard=earned monies owed to them.

Check out my Ventures for more information.
